Poor sleep habits lead to a great deal of underlying issues throughout your day. They may not be pressing as one obvious symptom, but you will notice a change in behavior with soreness and weakness in the body when not prepared well. To evaluate your sleep habits, ask yourself a few of these questions.

How many hours do I get on average?

Of course, 8-10 is recommended for the number of hours. Do consider though how true you stay to this, how many days in a given week you feel truly “rested.” Feeling rested and being rested may not be such different things, as sleep and self care rely so heavily on your mentality.

Do I shut off my screens before preparing for sleep?

Screen time is a major factor to your sleeping habits. If you do not shut off your screens and let your mind rest, your screen time will affect how rested you feel. It’s recommended you spend at least an hour before bed with no screen time.

Soreness and poor body positioning for sleep

If you are feeling sore consistently, your sleeping position is likely contributing to this, as well as your mattress potentially. However, if these issues persist across different locations you’ve slept, and regardless of the amount of sleep you get, treatment may be necessary.
